Also good to know about the Lanchetta: As Switzerland is one of the few countries in Europe where smoking in bars is still allowed non-smokers might be happy to find out that the Lanchetta has got a no-smoking section.
I have been in Lanchetta and it's really nice...romantic atmosphere, soft lights, good drinks and a wonderful view. The only thing is that it was so dark thatI had to use a lighter to read the menu!! :)

Great post! Lanchetta has always been a particular place for us "luganesi"! In fact, before becoming a pub, it used to be a very relaxing bar with a beautiful terrasse. They served fantastic ice-cream and the place was always crowded, with tourists but also local guests! By the way, on the 12th April 2007 all bars will be non-smoking areas!
I really like the atmosphere of the Lanchetta. The video shows really the great atmosphere with the candles and so on... good job!
I heard also of another bar called "Coyote Ugly" (via Besso) which could also be nice.
